Not to bad, I first removed the ends, then de-terminated the wires from the trucks, then removed the trucks which are attached by three screws. Remove the screw's holding the bottoms frame (8) screw's total, at that point, remove the end steps from one end and the interior should slide out, as your sliding the interior out, slide the light bar out until you can unplug it from the circuit board. That's pretty much it.

Jim, for the window tinting I used a product called Grafix Clear-Lay Green from Blick Art Materials. It comes in 18" X 24" sheets, it's similar to Mylar, about $2.87 a sheet. For the shades, I just cut some white index cards and glued to the Mylar.

It's a bit more green than I would like, but doesn't look too bad.

PLEASE email me with your correct email address, as I have a question for you that I do not want to post on the forum.

Thanks

Jim, I updated my profile with new email address.

I don't want to hi-jack your thread, but I really didn't want to start ANOTHER El Capitan thread. So, I'll just post some of my details added here so everyone can see all the upgrades. If you'd rather not have them here, say the word and I'll delete

This Model Master acrylic "steel" is so close in color that it's hard to tell the difference.I sprayed it on the inside of 1 of the ends and it looks like the factory finish. I hate acrylics, but after finally finding the same color in enamel...the enamel is not the same color.

Thumb tacks were easily removed.

Kadee 740 was added to the head end only to better mate with my power.

The new Protocraft coupler and the cut lever installed. It sits halfway under the diaphragm as it should, doesn't stick out to far.

I need to find some air hoses to finish off the end.

I only put Kadees on the ends of the train, and left the 3R couplers in between.
