Girard whistling train station | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

A friend just gave me a tinplate Girard whistling train station, probably early 1950s, in perfect shape: no dents, no play damage, no rust, and no discoloration. It looks Santa Claus new. It even has a small coil of wire and an instruction sheet. The instruction sheet is in unreadable condition.

What do I need to know to hook it up and make it work? Is there some sort of switch to operate it?

Thanks for the info. Sadly it has no lights, but it's in such great shape that I'll put it to use and add parking lot stanchions and stick-on LEDs to light it up.
