looks good and ran with no issues out of box. not the greatest pics, but after a 5 year plus wait. very happy with model for the money. just needs some lube, touchup and ready for dcc, sound and weathering.

thanks for letting me share this, guys!

Wow, that is a beautiful locomotive. Thanks for the pics. I have one coming also, but mine is configured to use a "training rail". Big Grin

Quite a beauty Mike! Worth the wait I think, and it is well displayed on your excellent RR. I think Sunset would be pleased to see such complimentary photos.

I took a look at your website too...all of your work is very nice!

Good luck!

Bob

thanks bob, will have much better pics later. just quick photos to get them out there. but thanks for comments! everyone.
hey christopher,

thanks. and yes you are correct. my layout now, is a dual gauge layout. mostly On3 and a few vignettes of O scale track. so i can still run and test out my O scale collection which is in shelves around the room.

my next layout will be back in O std guage. NP and GN. and i was lucky enough to be able to keep my current O std stuff while i moved over to On3 in this home. so if a GN or NP engine is released in the interim, and i can swing the money for it, i buy it now, knowing i would regret not getting it, later. the NP S4 from GPM is one i have been looking for for a while and managed to get it recently as well. this GN M2 has been on reserve for more than 5 years, so it was reserved when i had an O std layout.

so, sorry for long explanation, but that is it.

have a great weekend and thanks again for the comments.
jim,

runs fine. again always taking into consideration the price. couple things here and there, but once oiled up and broken in, it is just fine. engineer and fireman, glaze windows, paint lead truck wheelset, touch up some things, etc.. here are a couple pics of it in the case after it was broken in and run for about an hour in each direction.

again, for the price a very nice model, that will probably never be done again. and i just could not swing $7k or so to get a custom M2 built. so i am happy with it and it met my expectations.
hey jim,

these windows too small for real glass. just plastic.

weathering is subjective for sure. one mans too much is anothers just right.

i just do it in layers. start really light, do it in proper lighting. and just take my time. usually comes out ok. the GN Z6 in picture, just below M2 is what i consider "heavy" weathering.
