Love the added dimension of the under the boards view. Lends another level of appreciation to the complexity & interest of the Silk City layout.
Superb!!!.
you should do it on the subway line as well. See you at trainstock
Steve
All I can say is WOW !!! Thanks for these videos.
I live in Missouri and have never had the opportunity to come visit your club's layout...but this sure makes one want to go to NJ. But not in this cold weather
May I ask which model of the GoPro you used to make these videos ?
Very impressive cab ride, thanks.
I have not seen the layout, but the line we were on in the first video sure looks like an interurban to me.
The tracks being on the outer edge of the tunnels and bridges begs the question, is there something planned for the centerline right of way?
How long is the back stretch !??
nice videos, did you get a new camera? tell Paulie he ran a few red lights.
That was great! See you all at Trainstock!
By the way, was there a collision at the end of that first video?
That's really cool. It makes that straightaway looks like it goes on forever.
Ben,
Two awesome video's, It's that new video camera, great little camera
Alex
It just doesn't get any better than that!
Ben
good to see grown men have so much fun...See you in Springfield?
Looking forward to Trainstock!
Peter
I must be behind the times! I didn't know the TMCC command signal was good all around! Nice videos.
Now how cool was that!!! Very nice Ben!
Ben, VERY NICE!!! I really enjoy seeing your club's layout and when it's done like this I not only feel like I got to see it but I GOT TO RIDE ON IT. Very cool and thank you for sharing with us.
Great shots Ben, can't believe the telephone poles and wire are still up. You have come a long way in 10 years. Keep up the good work.
Jack
Excellent ride along, Ben.
Ben,
Your having to much fun..... wondered where youve been hiding.... Thanks for sharing very enjoyable.
That blows Railscope out of the water!

Joe, we have a few dedicated members going line by line trying to fix problems with TMCC. as you saw, they are getting it done.
Ben, Wow! Paul & I thought we were the only ones who liked the ride-along. John
Ok guys, I will ask again.
What model of GoPro did you use and how did you mount it. Do you have any pictures of the GoPro mounted ?

If you look closely you can see the ground wire we've run under the upper helix and along the telephone poles and high tension towers. Ben installed a new ground system and we've been running new ground wires to it. Running them above the problematic lines and avoiding bundling them with other wires makes a huge difference. We want to make sure we have a couple of lines to run TMCC/Legacy engines during Trainstock.
Wow, now I don't have to go to trainstock. I've seen the entire layout.
Roger, Go Pro Hero3 on double stick tape. This is new to me, so next I'm going to mount it with the lens just through the top of a boxcar behind a lash up and then on a flatcar in front of everything. Eventually going to run all our lines and interchange points. Chris & I are currently mapping out our entire layout, John

NOT EVEN CLOSE!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's maybe 10% of the layout. Ya gotta come and see it all!
What a ride! Thanks Ben!
awesome layout guys... music was good too..

Funny, I noticed in the second video the back up light flickers in the first tunnel. Wonder if that's part of the infamous signal gremlins at the club or just a brief electrical glitch.
Very nice videos.
Can't wait for my PRR Big Mikado to be (Born & Delivered) to run with the PRR Mikado Jr. I have now! but Alas, the due date is late Feb., early March for the Birth!
Great videos and perspective of the RR!!! What is the camera!!!
WoW Cool layout that thing is huge wish I lived closer eh.
How many feet of track is there? Whats the sq foot of the building?
nice job guys
Chad, the main train room is 12,500 sq ft of clear space and mostly all trains. we do a little cooking also. you have to make the trip, we have a member in Vermont who makes the trip regularly.
Very nice! Does the signal improve while running with the fluorescent lighting turned off? I am interested because LED is becoming quite popular as an alternate to fluorescent lighting and could be a possible solution to the signal problem.
