I can read and I can also relay a conversation I had with Scott about plating cars. whether it contradicts Jonathan or not it is still the conversation I had with Scott

I think the majority of O Scale modelers prefer plastic to metal for all but steamers.  All you have to do is look at what is offered in metal these days.

I personally prefer metal, but it is an irrational choice.  Those Zephyr cars were gorgeous, but never in my collection.
