Got My MTH NY Central "Century Green" set today!!

What a terrible tease. My daughter loves cars with those abbreviations.  Her initials are the same. Any of those cars she finds on my layout she thinks are for her.

She's just learning to read.

Hi Carl.  Well, right now, there's a couple on the layout being pulled by a 3rd Rail Texas Special E-7.  That's not too "a-prototypical," is it??  LOL  I'm sure they'll see some time behind things like my K-Line NYC green AAs, or the MTH E units when they arrive.  Another good possibility would be the Lionel Empire State Express steamer.  

 

I'm not as much of a stickler for historical accuracy as many others are.  Basically, any old-time east coast road name -- a Lackawanna, or a Susquehanna for ex. -- would be fine by me.

We've had a 6 car string of the original MTH PS-1's in the NYC jade green running behind a GP-35 for a few years now. Not sure if it's proto correct but it sure looks pretty.

 

Me likey.  I'll definitely be getting back into NYC once I build my new layout.  I do like that A-B-A E8 set in the green; these cars would look great behind it. 

LOL!! I sure was expecting some pics of the EMDs, but those are some real nice cars to run behind them when they come.
