Lionel did a great job with my Legacy system recently--I could not get the base unit to take the new software upgrade (six blinks), so I called, we discussed the problem, and they provided an RA number. The repair only took a few days plus shipping time and it was free.

That is great to hear. Lionel seems to really have their service game in order.
I also have had great service from lionel on parts. I check out part numbers , write them down and call lionel. I tell te the engine number and then the part numbers and they just check to see if they have my correct address and I get it the next week.. Super service.
Where do you get the part numbers to check out??? I have been known to buy a part or two from Lionel and it does not work that way for me.
on their web site under parts. you just answer engine number and a diagram comes up and you look up the picture of parts and find the part and the number by and look at the list below and write down the number. then call lionel repair and ask for parts and answer their question.
