Hello all
George Miller in 1941 offers an O scale line of early period steam trains ...WW2 stops that ..1948 he opens Great Western Model Locomotive Works in Hollywood, CA offering 4 early steam engines plus passenger and freight cars. 1950 Miller sells out but Great Western, continues till 1952. Miller was ahead of his time...as Thomas entered with their early period line about 1953 -4 ...and the big 3 ( Lionel, Flyer & Marx) leading from behind flood the O gauge market with Civil War era trains in 1959.
Here is a Great Western Mogul pulling freight cars 1948-9 ( motor in tender) even with Adam & Son castings ..a bit light for working the grades .1950 motor went into engine .
Please see link for action video
