Vol 1 is 1915-1928

Vol 2 is 1929-1936

Vol 3 is 1937-1942

Volume 1 alone is bigger than the Std Ga book. These will be a seminal work on Lionel O Gauge. More pictures, more understanding, better explanation of all things O Gauge, from a production standpoint. More charts, more stories, more of just about everything you could want. The 3 volumes could be more than 1200 pages!   Volume 1 will be available for delivery before Christmas 2017. Here is a sneak peak of the cover.

You can pre-order here: Lionel Vol 1

Bruce sent me another page to show.... This one of the unusual 253 set that is complete .  This shows how the Book will be detailing the common as well as the unusual... and how locomotives versus consists are detailed in the book...  Note that there are a bewildering number of variations that were produced ( I'm still finding 800 and 2800 series variations after 20 years of collecting them!) and because they were in a huge variety of sets, they get a differing treatment. Remember, that this will be a 3 Volume set... there is that much information out there that Bruce collected...!

Trust me: The new O gauge book (Vol. 1) is THE definitive work on that early period of Lionel O. If the history of Lionel O gauge interests you, you will want to includthis--and subsequent planned volumes--in your permanent reference library. I seriously doubt that they will ever be topped by anything even remotely as comprehensive. I have an early pre-publication of Vol. 1 and have reviewed it for our April/June issue of OGR. It is excellent!

My book arrived today.  I think it turned out very nice.  A lot of cool stuff in it.

My 253 on the cover.  Hope you folks order and enjoy!

My pre-order copy arrived today. Absolutely awesome!!  Anyone with an interest in Lionel (or a bit of transition Ives) tinplate from 1915 to 1928 will eat this book up. Some topics slip to the mid-30's.  Essential!

I agree! An indispensable reference to that period of Lionel O gauge. I doubt it will ever be surpassed simply because I don't know of anyone in the hobby willing to perform such exhaustive research on the subject. Not an easy task at all when you are dealing with trains made so many years ago.

Allen,  With the use of the internet, and recent auctions from various sources, there are many variations being found.  A lot of collectors are posting some of their finds with these variations.  It is these serious collector, who have supplied their findings to Bruce Greenberg, who is willing to compile all this new found information, and coming out with the new updated series of guides.  Rob English has supplied a lot of info, and worked with Bruce directly.  I hopefully will be meeting and working with Bruce, with his next volume, which he has recently started work on.  I’m looking forward to working with Bruce, hopefully next October at York.
