Has Lionel stopped selling the 180 Brick (6-22983) as a solo? I don't understand , unless they just need to sell more of the 80 (?) watt. I don't want to spend $600-$700 for a ZW when 2 -3 of the bricks will work.

They are just out of them right now. I believe they were supposed to be back by early 2016, per one of the vendor or meeting videos from the spring York meet. This could have changed by now?

lionel is no longer making this 180 bricks and they haven't been available for over a year stay tuned to the new catalog for a replacement

Since your post was about the GW-180's, I believe he was commenting on the PH-180's only and not the GW-180s so the GW's could be changing?
You might find another comment or two from Jon if you select him as member and search phrase '180'.

Addtitional power is needed, so I have a decision to make on what to buy.
I hope to get my 2 VL Engines and a Legacy in addition to 2 conventional loops. All loops are stand alone and will have their own power source.

There may be some PH-180s still out there somewhere, but it might be a long, hard hunt? Personally I think they are worth waiting for, best value, power and breakers available, IMO.
