Greetings--just catching up on putting a Hafner into service. The "gong" was folded over when I got it and broke immediately when I tried to straighten it out. I am a pretty good "solder-er" and put the pieces back together. Seemed solid enough until I adjusted it, every so slightly and.....came apart again. Would any of the members care to part with a Hafner "gong" from their junk box? I am pleased to pay your price. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Jim.

If you cannot find a replacement, you may want to remove the soft-solder and try to silver solder it together (silver solder not silver bearing solder). The silver solder would make for a very tough joint plus the steel would be a little softer if left to cool with out quenching.
Just a plan "B" suggestion.
I don't have one, but I might have a similar part that was stripped from a broken German clock hanging around if you want to give that a try.
