Happy New Year to all of our Forum members and their families. If your plans include going out this evening to celebrate the New Year, be safe. There will be many crazies on the road tonight who will drive intoxicated so be careful if you go out.

A very HAPPY NEW YEAR to all of you, and to your families and friends. 
Under two hours to go now until the new year reaches me here in Holland, and the annual fireworks barrage to rival that which preceded the second battle of the Somme will commence. 
Already the streets resemble a war zone, with wandering militia groups (A.k.a. kids with a bag full of fireworks.) setting-up checkpoints and missile launch sites at many road junctions. But at midnight, I shall don my flack-jacket, join my neighbours in the middle of the street, crack open a bottle of bubbly, and watch the show.
