What's the best way to check what manufacturer made an F3 ACL set? Google? Wondering if there's a better way?
Thanks,
Bobby

Lionel has made at least one ACL F3 ABA Set - in 1996 (product #6-11903).
Bobby:
MTH did a Railking ACL F3 A-B-A in 2017. Set number was 30-20463-1. If you go to the MTH website and enter the set number in the search box, you can see what these looked like. Click on “Find it locally” and you’ll see that one dealer shows these in stock although, I’d take that with a grain of salt. You’ll need to check directly with the dealer to see if they actually have them.
You might also try searching on the set number on eBay. I’ve got this set and they are very nice looking and well running engines!
Good luck!
Curt
Lionel made one in the 90s, IIRC. It was TMCC.
MTH also made Premier ACL ABBA
WOW. Thanks for all the replies!
According to Sidetrack Hobbies' website, they have both MTH Premier (individual A & B units) and RailKing (F3 ABA set) ACL locomotives in stock. Also have a set of RailKing ACL passenger cars, if that interests you as well.
Williams made a set in F7's ABA and several are on ebay at great prices. less than half of Lionel.
I have the Lionel set. Maybe I'll pull it out this weekend and do a video for my channel. It was the first F3 with TMCC and is a beautiful looking set. I'm not sure I'll dig out the passenger cars though.
WOW, thanks all!
@BobbyDing - Further to @harleyhouse comment above, if you check Lionel’s product #6-11903 on eBay right now there are presently fourteen (14) of these ABA sets up for sale with varying prices.
Here’s a video I did today.
Nice video Marty.

Thanks. She runs good for being 20+ years old.
Why is it when ACL is talked about everyone assumes purple? Maybe he wants a black set? FT ABA Diesel Set - 20-2347-1. The last and highly detailed set was a limited release of FT's in purple that sold out quickly.
Still waiting for an MTH F set in SCL which has never been offered. Not sure why? Same goes for SCL passenger cars. The forgotten railroad I guess?

I don’t think anyone assumed. This is the set I have so I presented it. Others posted that they are still available on the secondary market.
I suspect if folks had a black model they’d present it as well.
MTH did a Proto-Sounds One F-3 ACL ABBA and matching painted aluminum cars . The item number was MT2088LP. The set is drop dead gorgeous. The 18" cars are perfect for the ABBA. The set has four motor: two in the lead A unit and two more in the powered B unit.
What Marty said. I have the MTH ACL set I mentioned. If I had a set of black ACL F3’s, I’d have mentioned them too!

I have a lot of F3 sets, so with ACL I decided do something a little different and use Lionel Geeps for power instead of getting the F3s. They made these Geeps in two numbers, one with TMCC/RS (cab no. 178), and one conventional (the conventional one with cab no. 179 is much harder to find). I finally found one and swapped chassis with another TMCC Geep to have two-motored power with TMCC. I have them with the all-purple Lionel streamlined passenger cars. They're harder to find than the silver ones that were produced with the F3, but I like them better (just personal taste). Also, they have finished interiors and passenger figures, which the earlier silver ones don't.
