My local shortline (Arcade & Attica Railroad) owns three ex-DL&W "Boonton" coaches and three combines. They are still in use, and have been owned by the A&A since the early 1960s. And unfortunately, nothing else really looks like them. Has anybody ever made them in two-rail or three-rail? I need some for three-rail, but will convert them from 2-rail if necessary.

Anybody have any ideas? Thanks.

No. Only made in HO, many, MANY years ago.

I saw a short train of Boonton cars made from 70's MPC Madison cars years ago.  Could have been someone in the New Jersey HiRailers group.  The roof line is pretty close.  I guess that some Plastistruct  steel I-beams and other pieces should do the trick.   Steps and railings would have to be scratch built.  Brake valves (the dreaded P-valves)  and trucks would probably have to be a compromise.  Stem-winder hand brakes, now there's a challenge!

There are enough EL and DL&W fans out there, maybe 3rd Rail could be convinced to produce  a four car set and extra coaches in both liveries.  Imagine all of the consists you could build.

I'd be in for a set or two.

Yup, looking for them too! Aside from the rare brass HO models, the Funaro & Camerlengo models haven't been produced in over 23 years. How do I know? I have a letter from them dated 2021 telling me that new/revised one-piece bodies of their Boonton coaches would be out "in a few months". That was 22+ years ago. Every year at Springfield, I ask them about an update. Every year (without fail), they tell me "it is on the way" or "it should be out in the couple of months." At least they are consistent.
