Just wondering if anyone has tried and would it improve the signal?

Yes. And yes.
I think there have been a few threads about this here, and gunrunnerjohn has even posted some links to the larger antennas, I believe it was him anyway.
Thought I had saved a link, but can't find it.
Sorry about the repetition. I didn't think I was the first to ask. Would like some more info.
Here's a 9dB 2.4ghz Omni-Directional Antenna that should do the trick. This is the same style we use at the club, made a significant difference.
Here's a bunch...
Mine is under the table connected with a short coax.
I knew you were out there somewhere John! BTW did you talk to harry about those smoke units?

That was going to be my next question. Thanks cjack.

I did mention it, and I sent him an email with your email address. The ball is in his court now.
Any idea on how long a cable can be used between the antenna and base before there is noticeable signal loss?
Ron
Thank you John.
Thank you John. Will this one do the trick?

It depends on the cable (and of course the frequency) but you might figure about a max of a half db per foot at 2.4 GHz...and maybe a quarter db per connector. So if you buy a 10 db gain antenna and use a 6 foot coax, you might loose 3.5 db of that gain. Still ok and maybe not so much as this depending on what coax you buy. You can ask/look when you buy.

Depends on which signal you're taking about. It will improve the 2.4Ghz signal between the cab-2 and the base. This will only make a difference if you see the red light on the Cab-2. It will do nothing for the signal to the engine.
That one is fine Chris. Chris Lord is correct, this is to correct handset to base communication issues. As the folks at NJHR are well aware, large layouts have different issues with the track signal.
