Has anyone tried to put passengers in the Atlas CZ obs car?

Rich - I have a lot of passengers in my passenger cars and even more in my die-cast autos and trucks that have lost feet and lower limbs.  It seemed like a small price for them to pay to be able to ride free forever.

For what it's worth, Atlas O had a video you should watch about how to "open up" their passenger cars. The video was produced when the replace window strips were made available to replace the as-delivered ones with the blinds on the outside of the windows. I would suggest you watch the video prior to attempting to "open up" your Atlas O passenger cars in order to install people.

Chop their feet and glue their azz to the seat.

Many years ago I added 400 passengers to my 14 MTH Super Chief.  That included two standard domes and one full length dome.  The most casualties were in the diner because I had to chop just below the waist since there was no room under the tables.  Once the cars were put together nobody could tell.

It was well worth the time and effort.  Besides, as Art already stated, they got to ride FREE forever.

I tired putting 1/48 and 1/50 people in the regular CZ dome. They don't fit, even cutting their legs off, their bodies are too tall. Their shoulders are above the headrests and their heads won't fit under the glass. I ended up using 1/75 people just in the dome, and they look much better. Their heads are at the headrests, as they should be.. unless you're 8' tall. 

 

I used the larger people in the bottom portion of the car, still had to remove legs, and they still look too big. With the window blinds, you can hardly even see the people on the lower level anyway, but I still filled the seats since I had the car apart.   

 

Great information. Now were did you obtain 1/75 size sitting people, please?

HERE and HERE granted the colors suck and the poses are limited, but it was real easy to change the colors of the shirts and stagger the same poses. They are so small, all people notice is that the dome is full of people.
