I took mine out of the package and eagerly took some pictures and they look fantastic. However when I rolled past the first Ross switch it hit the DZ1000 switch machine, hit the diverging rails, and also took out the manual caboose throws on an inside curved switch... 096/072.

So I am not defeated so easily, but figured I would see what others are doing to get these around their 3 rail layouts?

Interesting... I won't have mine until early May.  But from your picture, it doesn't appear that the observation's rooftop sits any lower than other cars.  Is there a piece of detail on the lower portion of the observation body (touh to tell from the angle of your photo) that's causing the trouble?  Any other CZ cars cause this problem?

I don't have one of these cars, but have seen this problem with the DZ1000 many times. Usually the round head crews that hold the switch machine in place stick up too high and catch low hanging detail. The easy solution is to replace the screws with ones that have counter sunk heads.

The Atlas dome cars have accurate underframe detail which includes a lot of low hanging equipment. Most passenger cars produced these days have an abbreviated underframe in which the detail that is there doesn't hang as low as it should. I've had problems with the underframe details on my 21" heavyweight GGD cars hitting things on curves (like the Caboose Industries ground throw). The only real solution is to move the object that the car is hitting.

Yes, that same detail part would not clear a planked style track crosswalk on my layout.  I had to trim some of the "nozzle" off.  The crosswalk was near where I put the car on the track and I happened to notice the blockage, otherwise it would have just sheared off- no biggie.

This is my first Atlas passenger car purchase and I was surprised there were no passenger figures.  The windows seem a little foggy and too green, actually the interior details are pretty sparse, IMHO.  I really like the red strobe!
