H e l l Gate Bridge

I think there was a scale bridge built by a midwestern group pictured in one of the magazines a while back. I dont think it was modular because it was used as a no ducking walkunder.
As an aside.My son had a track meet last weekend on Governors Island. The bridges location. I got a good look at it up close.

Th.e HellGate bridge is not on Governor's Island.

Silver Lake meant to say Randall's Island. I ran track, watched football (and watched the trains heading toward the bridge) in the same stadium back in my high school years.

I think it was part of capital city trackers but I'm not 100% sure.

^^^ If you mean the National Capital Trackers, then this is the bridge. Its also used by the National Christmas Tree Railroad at the White House. 

 

It can hold 2 G gauge or 3 O gauge tracks. I know who built it, I'll alert him to the thread and maybe he can post some more info.

 

Wow I've never seen that model. Nice bridge. I think the real one has been downgraded from 4 to 3 tracks as well.

       
       

Yes Jim is right I went to Governors Island the other day of the weekend. Nice place   My mistake.

The Milwaukee Lionel Railroad Club has a giant Hellgate bridge on their club layout. There are pictures of it on their website if you want to see if it's the one you're thinking of. 

That group is the one I've seen a picture of in one of the magazines.
