I need help dating a flyer I acquired recently.  I couldn't find a copyright year anywhere on it.

The two pics below show the front and back of the flyer:

Flyer Front
Flyer Front
Flyer Back
Flyer Back

It doesn't have any staples.  It unfolds into a 17" x 11" poster with stuff on both sides.

Two sections show how to hookup the DCS in minutes using a Transformer (Z-4000), Track Interface Unit (TIU), Accessory Interface Unit (AIU) to a terminal track.

One section shows how easy it is to add engines equipped with Proto-Sound 2.0 to the MTH DCS Remote Control.

Proto-Sound 3.0 is not mentioned, so it must have come out before it was introduced.

One section lists all of the "UNMATCHED COMMAND CONTROL FEATURES".

I don't know if the prices changed over the years, but the prices listed in the flyer are:

  • $149.95 DCS Remote Control
  • $179.95 Track Interface Unit
  • $099.95 Accessory Interface Unit
  • $009.95 6' Mini-to-Mini Cable
  • $016.95 Layout Wiring Terminal Block
  • $019.95 TIU/TMCC 6' Connector Cable

Do any of you know what year it came out?

Who is the guy in the denim MTH shirt? (1) Is he a former MTH employee? (2)

I cringe when I see adds with the forced pose “smiles”. It looks unnatural.

No mention of the company’s website? (3)  It speaks of the 1990’s in the past tense? (4) The flyer screams 2001-2004

(1) I don't know.

(2) I don't know.

(3) The only web-site mentioned is www.protosound2.com.

(4) I only noticed that it mentions "the early 1990s".

2001-2004 narrows it down, but I need a specific year to place it under.

The Bantam Daylight set on the flyer pictured first appeared in the 2002 Toy Fair Brochure.

Does it really matter who posed for the pictures?

Rusty

Does it matter who posses for the pictures?? I suppose it doesn’t matter, but I did become curious if anyone knew the gentleman in the photo. He’s dressed like an MTH employee. But I do agree with you that it is likely from 2001 to 2004.
