Was stored properly but die cast metal wheels still expanded. I think it is 33-1005 O Gauge Rugged Rails 4-8-4 Bantam Gs-4 Steam Engine. I have looked on MTH.com but they do not have the chassis because its too old. I hate to throw it away because it was never used. Came as a set with 3 matching Daylight cars
What should I do?? Very disappointed in Railking for using cheap die-cast metal for the wheels.

The wheels don't turn unless you are driving them from the motor, the worm used in these is not back-driveable.
Thank you for your reply. I do understand and see the worm drive. My problem is the wheels themselves. They have expanded and started crumbling. I never run this train. I would like to replace the wheels but I think I have to replace the whole chassis but I can not find one.
If the wheels are actually crumbling, you're right, they're toast! That locomotive doesn't have "user replaceable" wheels, the chassis is a whole part. I just had one in with bad wheels, the owner had purchased a junker at a train show to swap wheels and repair the good one. That's likely how you'll have to go.
The drive block can be exchanged. I believe it runs $75. You get the bare block with wheels, everything else needs to be moved over. I can do this if you want to. E-mail in profile. G
I think he said that the drive block wasn't available, but it looks like it is, DF-1200027 still $75.
The complete engine was $149 back in 02..... I think I would call MTH and ask for another or an exchange .( since it was never used) The wheels shouldn't be expanding... terrible.
I will call MTH today and see if they would help me out. I'll let you know.
Likely another case of zinc pest.
