Help/questions: With the MTH 50-1019 Proto-Sound 2.0 Battery Charger

The charger has two different plugs, one for each type of battery.

This charger is labeled PS2. The charger and batteries have different plugs so you can't mix them up. 3 volt are rectangular and 5 volt is round. Output is DC for the batteries.

The original PS2 charger was 50-1005 and it was only for 8.4V battery charging. The later model can charge either type and has different connectors as noted.

I think this is what you want. I have pretty much 100% Lionel in O and my main go to is MTH  in G (One Gauge).

I replace the stock batteries with life time ones.(BCR)

Thank you Larry. I see that it is a duel output 3v and 9v.

With the 3volt being the square connector, the same on the bottom of my tender. 

I will order one tonight.
