Help With GP9 Strobe & Sound | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I recently purchased a 1996 NYC GP9 with TMCC and Railsounds. It ran fine in conventional, but the lights flicker when in Command mode. I took the shell off and looked at the antenna. It looks fine, but the lights got more steady when I put my hand on it. I put the shell back on, reset it and now I got problems.

1. Strobe only flashes in neutral. When in motion the strobe light stays lit.

2. When in command mode the bell automatically comes on and stays on. I can't get it to shut off. What the heck have I done??!! I didn't unplug anything that Incan tell. The cab lights still flicker but thats the least of my problems. Other than that, the night I bought it home I cleaned and serviced the Pullmor and now it runs super nice. But that was a week ago.

I also noticed that the cab light used to only come on in one direction. Now its on all the time as well.

Do another reset/restore on the LCRU2 board. The procedure can be found here:

The code for that locomotive is 5.

If that doesn't fix things, there's a good chance you'll need to replace the LCRU2 board.

Sounds as if it is programmed for a steamer. That feature code would cause the strobe to behave like you stated..
