Did you close all other programs on your computer?
Do you have a version "L" TIU with USB or are you using a serial adapter with an older version? What are you powering the TIU with for the upgrade?
I've upgraded them several times over each's life and it didn't take long ever, that I remember. Should just be a few minutes.
your probably having a computer problem, when was the last time you defragged the hard drive, can make a big difference! you also could have a corrupted system and need to be reloaded. I repair computer too can reload windows 10!

I can't even begin to imagine how fragmented hard drives enter into upgrading the TIU, but unless they've changed the Windows system suddenly behind my back, that's not his issue! The DCS Loader application loads into memory, and you have to read a fairly small software upgrade file, that's the extent of the computer's disk being involved in this procedure.
I think in order to help you, we need more information. Start with the hardware version of the TIU from the bottom sticker. Are you using USB or serial communication to do the update? If you're using serial, and a USB<->Serial adapter, what is the make/model of the adapter? Did you check the stereo cable you're using for the update to insure it's good and all three wires have continuity? What version of Windows are you using? Do you have version 5.0 of the DCS Consumer Loader?
Engineer,Alan and John,I did reply to the three of you thanking each one for your most kind and useful help, but I did this from my I phone.I just want to make sure that all of You got my reply.Again thank You all for your fantastic support

But... what help have we been?
Agree with GRJ & Engr Joe. Only takes a few minutes. Be sure to follow the on-screen instructions precisely and in the order set forth. If process fails, power down completely and start over.
Windows USB drivers and the curly telephone cord were my nemesis.
Details and solution here.
Have Fun!
Ron
What do you mean John? All of the advice I got fro all Three of You gentlemen was very enlightening

I just asked a bunch of questions. Did you figure it out?
