When I was a kid I could not wait to see the jcpenny or sears catalog. They would have race car set and train sets.Mostly tyco or bachman trains sets. There where some lionel train sets. But there was one train set that stood out to me.It was a bachmann ho set that had a santa fe 2-10-4.It pulled a fairly long train.Just take a look for you selfs.

Thanks for the memories.  My first trains (HO scale) came from the JC Penney's Christmas catalog sometime around 1969 or 1970.  Along with living close by some full-sized railroad tracks, this pretty much cemented my life-long fascination with trains, both real and model.

I couldn't wait for the new Penney's Christmas catalog to come out each fall.  I would browse through it for hours on end.  Simply LOOKING through the catalog provided lots of cheap entertainment during the long winter months (or the entire year, for that matter).
