Hello! I was checking my track voltage on the MTH app while running a train and it’s saying 23-25 Volts. That seems really high so I’m worried there’s an issue. It’s powered by the MTH Z1000 which is suppose to be an 18v 100w transformer. Should I switch to a Lionel 180w?

I just put a multimeter on it and it said 17.3... so I don’t understand it
This can happen with early model PS3 engines. Your voltage is good.

Interesting! It is a PS3 engine from 2012. I wonder when MTH started using PS3
PS3 arrived in 2010 and the voltage bug was fixed in 13 or 14. Do the battery check it might read "LOW" or "HIGH". Again nothing to worry about.

Thanks for the help! The battery does read OK
well apparently you were correct! I put a PS2 engine on and voltage is at 16. Thanks again!
I wouldn't trust the voltage reading that the MTH boards report, it's never been that accurate.
