This may be my last post before I get banned, wont be a big loss to forum.
So, over the past few days there have been a number of topics that have been "funny", I think and offer valuable feedback to manufacturers. A certain post concerning a GG-1 at Harrisburg, (I think) was allowed to stay but heavily moderated after a number of user complaints, (not by me). I even posted a "funny" response to try and lighten the mood, (GG-1 but in Hex, went over like a lead balloon, but I digress).
We've had what I would consider a post concerning valuable feedback to a train manufacturer, that happens to be a forum sponsor, (I hazard, I would guess the largest). Their quality control has been going down hill for a number of years while prices rise. Post got closed/deleted.
We had a post concerning a catalog that was leaked early by the manufactures dealers, (NOT US!) Post was caned.
We had a post concerning what was NOT in the catalog, (in jest) and the post was caned.
I am sorry, but when I signed up as a digital subscriber, I didn't care about the magazine. I signed up to give money for the time and effort, costs to run the website, dont care about the magazine. Totally lost interest when a mod basically said, "we dont care about halloween so don't cover it". I wanted to share thoughts and ideas with other people in the hobby, some good, some bad, get ideas of what to do, what not to, blah blah blah. I could do that for free by just watching and not subscribe.
Now to delete a topic of "whats not in a catalog", (in jest I remind you) from a long time member, (I remember him from 1999-2000 when I was first on the board) really seems wrong.
Will I be banned before getting some answers?
I probably wont be renewing my digital subscription after seeing how this board is run. The mods should take into account digital subscriber losses vs manufacturer, (sponsor) losses before cancelling every possible negative thing said about a certain company that should be taken as feedback. I don't see forum sponsor XYZ posts getting caned for positive feedback. After all, said manufacturer had a "survey monkey" survey on there website back in November, which also asked about quality.
This coming form a "snow Mexican", yes, an american had to explain that to me after saying it to me while I was working in NC.
Thoughts?
