In March there was a rumor going around on Trainorders.com that someone took up making Homabed again. Has anyone heard anything?

Yes, try cwhomaroad.com. They are back in production.
Over the course of time I have used Homasote roadbed products from 4 different companies in different parts of the country. Not so much that "they" are back in business. There is no real "they" continuity, always different people starting fresh with a new similar name. It is a very difficult business model in which to turn a consistent profit. Follow the dollar, it just is not there. If you want the very best in roadbed grab it while you can.
Thank you Tom and Tom. Even though I don't have an immediate need I just placed an order for an addidtional 240 feet to use on a planned expansion. As Tom Tee says - "get it while you can".
It is always good to buy it when you can, not wait until you need it for layout construction and discover it is out of stock or out of production.
