Hopper Car from The Hunger Games

I did not get the chance to see the movie last Friday as I had planned, but will do so in a few days. Based on the box office reports and records that the movie is setting, I venture to say that everything in the movie will become rather popular, including the railroad cars!

The characters ride in a a Maglev art deco train to the the city and the competition as they will in the next movies.

Seems a bit like a Harry Potter type train set possibility. Maybe MTH can dust off the Silver Bullet molds or Lionel could do the same with the Phantom for some new marketing opportunities.

I haven't seen it....don't think I will from all the previews I've seen....but here is some art of the train....not sure how close it is to the movie...but cool....

I saw the movie opening day. I gave it a 7, my grandson gave it a 10.  I liked the high speed train in it, but I don't remember a freight train.

Sure beats the Polar Express; those cars NEED to be done. I'll buy a 6-car set.

I'm currently reading the book (like an hour ago I put it down for a while); haven't seen the movie, but I will. The book appeals to my sci-fi tastes, the imaginary world to my model RR sensibilities, and is written - so far - in an elegant, spare and "un-

hyperbolic" style. I know that it was intended for 14-year-old girls, but it turns out that

a lot of us 63-year-old men like a good, fast-moving yarn, too. The main character's

personality also reminds me of someone from my far-away past, minus the killing, dying and arrows, of course. 

The coal train is just in the backgroundodd some of the opening scenes in the film near the time of the "reaping".

My wife read the trilogy and loved it.  I haven't read the books, but I like Dystopian fiction, so I probably will read them.  The wife and I saw the movie and I quite liked it.  I noticed the hopper car in the film.  While not in my modelling schemes, it would make for a smart tie-in.
