Has anyone noticed a difference in the horn on the new ES 44 versus the previous version from a couple of years ago? The horn on my new ES 44 is totally different.
Thank You

I am of no help then lol!
Do my ears detect Mr. Melvin again?
Horn is very similar to my original UP ES44 but my new one is higher pitched. All of the other sounds are very nice. I have the two of them in a MU w/the horn blowing on both engines & it sounds much better. I was just curious if they changed the sound on the new Lionel ES44. I noticed that the fan motors have been deleted. I like your video.
Thank You

Horn is different and the laboring is too.
Ken that video i posted not my video. I just watched it on youtube earlier. I thought may help.
I received my new Lionel UP ES44AC yesterday. Horn is like the one on the new CSX ES44AC in the video. It is an improvement over the old horn, although I would prefer a deeper sound. Someone posted a link to a video of new CN ES44AC and the horn is the same also.
The horn is the same as my Vision UP Genset, but a little louder. I believe these horn sounds are not recordings of actual trains but are are generated by sound chips.
There are some really awesome horns that UP and BNSF uses on their newer power (SD-70Ace and ES44's). Lionel and MTH both need to get trackside to record these.
