Hi I have a Hornby #BB-8051 3 rail O gauge electric that runs on DC I would like to convert it to run on AC. Would a small rectifier work. I appreciate any input.
You could put a bridge rectifier in the locomotive the problem is that it would only run in one direction unless you add a DPDT switch. You could put the rectifier on the track feed from the transformer but, if you have any AC locomotives, they are not going to work.
