What do you do with your hot wire foam cutter? What type do you use, bench type, knife type, etc.?

I have this one, I principally cut packaging with it, but I plan on using it for scenery, that's coming up. I have piles of 2" blue foam for building mountains.

I purchases a much more versatile set than that. I won't mention the name, as they're no longer available on Amazon. It was, however, $18, which basically makes it disposable. Had a standard wire cutter, extra wire, several other tips, and cut Styrofoam like nobody's business.
I have this Tippi foam cutter.
It works ok for embossing mortar lines for stone or block, but it does not get hot enough, so cutting foam mountains is painfully slow. I bought this coping attachment which barely cut at all.
I used to own this hot wire foam factory kit.
The hot knife (left) never got hot enough to cut foam. The sculpting tool (right) worked better than the Tippi, but it still was very slow.
Both of these systems used a wall wart power supply that couldn't provide enough wattage to do the job. Hot Wire Foam Factory offers 3 "Pro Power Supplies" and an industrial knife as well. I recommend that you only buy a tool with a heavy duty power supply.

I have the Proxxon foam cutter which works very well, but has a limited radius because it is a table with an arm.

At least it is reliable and well made.

Hey Craftech, what do you do with your table top foam cutter?

Foam Scenery (as long as it isn't wider than the throat of the arm)
Foam end cushions for the BCW boxes I store my trains in.
I also found this inspiring for future craft projects

Really!?! Well, I’m glad to learn of this, John. Scenery planned for your new layout after all this time. Hallelujah!! 👏 ☺️ 👍

My hot wire table P/S is a 130 Watt transformer! No reason to power it from the anemic power supplies they provide, I just connect it to my bench train transformer and adjust the current to my liking, normally around 1.6 amps for good results.
