As we make tracks for 2015 and we get ready to announce new products into the Madison Poster line, I'd like to get a sampling of opinions from our perspective customers. When choosing pictures, signs etc. for your train room. At what size do you start wondering if it will fit? I have some things in development along with our traditional Lionel dealer poster offerings, but want to get a general idea on how much wall space folks have left. Your input will help us decide on sizing for a few exciting offerings for 2015.

Thanks,

Derek

As an owner of a large edition of the current dealer poster, I enjoy it's graphic impact that is obtained by it's size. However, it's understandable that not all can afford such a commitment of space, thus the offering of two formats is quite sensible. I would hope that you continue this practice heading forward. I look forward to your next release.

Lionel produced some flag pennants a few years back... They said Lionel and American Flyer... put them up in the man cave. These are almost a perfect size. Plus they reminded me when I was a kid. Had the Tigers Pennants pinned up in my room.

You could make these and have them say Polar Express, Vision Line, ... or just plain Lionel.

I should clarify. We will continue to offer our dealer posters in two sizes for 2015. Large format owners of the D-145 will receive an email from me in January about the 2015 poster. I want you to be able to reserve your serial number for the second year, that way you can collect a matched set if you'd like.

The question here is really about a new product that I'm working on, and just trying to figure out a good size before we run a few pilot samples sometime in early 15. I appreciate everyone's input.

Sounds intriguing, Derek. The size your suggesting seems appropriate for signs to have any impact, again, depending upon subject matter. Certainly, the market is littered with signs and the like in smaller ranges, therefore, I see no strategic advantage in marketing additional such products. Your concept of a somewhat larger format will be a refreshing departure from the norm.

It's all about balance i guess

Chris, the Lionel posters historically have been very large 6 x 3 was not that uncommon or even larger such as the D-145. I'm actually looking to take this outside of just a poster company and I have some projects such as this that will accomplish that. Our cornerstone will hopefully always be these dealer posters, but there are other areas out there that I would like to explore. I'm just trying to figure out how much wall space everyone has to play with.
