It seems that you can't lower the crew talk by itself ,so i just used the control nob on the engine to lower all the sounds to a more acceptable level ,for me problem solved .
Earlier Legacy units do not have 2 volume levels control via the remote. 1 and 4 will raise the background sounds and the volume knob under the radiator vent hood will raise the overall volume, including the crewtalk.
See page 30 in the owners manual: https://www.lionelsupport.com/...s/60747282612501.pdf
Ricko,i did take a quick look in the manual ,but i don't think i got to far into it ,however i did use the control nob on the engine to lower the sounds to a level i was comfortable with ,thanks for responding .
Crew talk is only controlled by the master volume, the background sounds (prime mover, chuff, etc.) are separately controlled by the secondary volume control using AUX1 and then the volume keys. Of course, when you drop the master volume, all the sounds are at a lower level.
It is interesting that no matter how long you been in this hobby ,you are always learning something new ,& most of what i have learned came right from here on the forum,i couldn't get by without your help.
