Recently I purchased a couple plug-expand-play accessories. They require command control to operate.
Originally I had assigned ID# 97 and 98 to each. Now I need to change them (each item has a plate on it with a 3-digit number. I want to use the last 2 digits for their ID#.).
Not sure how to do this. I know how to initially assign a number, but how do I change it so that when the new number is assigned, the old ID# will become available for other items?

You just switch the RUN/PGM switch to PGM, hit ACC and then the two digit number desired, then hit SET. Job done. Don't worry about the old number, it takes care of itself.
You may want to erase the naming data (if you did this with the accessory originally) associated with the old number from the remote to keep confusion down.
