The question came up as to what kind of command system folks had in another thread. I thought it would be find to have a poll to see what percentage of users have what type of system, if any.

Holy carp, a poll on the OGR forum!\
I thought those were forbidden
Hey, they gave us the option for creating a poll, so I created one! Interesting, TMCC/Legacy is way ahead so far.
good poll !!!
Should Conventional with Z1000 remote be included?
DCS Remote Commander Set on the SD70 and PS2 Automode on the Subway.
Interesting results.
Good Poll.
But... I'm a little puzzled as to the given percentages. At the time of writing they add up to 121% (23+23+30+15+7+23)

Maybe those that have both TMCC & DCS voted for each.
I'm wondering who has the "other" command system and what it is?
Interesting. After I voted. I assume I'm one of the three TMCC votes.
TMCC | 3 votes | 13% |
Legacy | 3 votes | 13% |
DCS | 3 votes | 13% |
Both TMCC/Legacy and DCS | 7 votes | 30% |
Other Command System | 1 vote | 4% |
Conventional Only | 8 votes | 34% |

You can only vote for one category, so I don't know how that worked.
John,
I only voted for one but I was able to check all of them without the poll un-checking any. Maybe some voted for conventional along with command making two votes and the percentage higher.
TMCC, DCS and conventional
Conventional Only.
I guess I don't have control issues...
John,
I changed my vote by voting for two and it worked. I changed it back for only one. So that is where the percentage is coming up too high.
What if you have TMCC, Legacy, and Conventional? I voted for all 3...
I guess I should have been more complete. I assumed that anyone that has TMCC Legacy and DCS had conventional capability.
I see that it is possible to select more than one...
I've also noticed that the 'Total votes' figure doesn't match the total of the votes either. There is a very strange voting calculation algorithm in use here I think.
I don't control my trains, they control me!

How about DCC or Radio controlled

Is that just for the LION-els?
Good old fashioned postwar ZW for me.
Options incomplete. Should include: TMCC/Conventional; DCS/Conventional;Legacy/Conventional, etc. The key word that skews results is ONLY as it pertains to Conventional operation. To respond to the poll as constituted, I checked TMCC and Conventional Only, which is not an accurate picture as it pertains to my operation.
I voted (TMCC). It will be interesting to see how this turns out. Bo

DCS, TMCC/Legacy, and conventional--all are available on my home layout. I like to cover all bases. Also have DCC available for my On30, if and when I get another layout up and running.
My feeling is that anyone using command control also has the capability to operate conventionally...that is pretty much a given since just about any transformer will operate conventionally and just about all locomotives, regardless of the command system they use, will also operate conventionally.
My Large Scale layout in the garage current is configured for conventional operation, but at some point in the future it will be fitted for battery power/RC.
Mainly conventional for me except for three PS-2 engines by MTH, so I have DCS unit and AIU.
Command control is a little expensive and you need to find out if it will benefit your operating that much before buying it. There are a few things that command control will do but can also be done with a newer transformer. So you need to deccide on your own before buying command control, maybe by using a command system at a freind's house or at a club before taking the plunge into command control.

I run, TMCC, DCS and Conventional w/transformer control. Merry Christmas!!
By offering them positive incentives for good behavior!
I use lionel Legacy only.
TMCC and DCS.
Conventional with Cab-1.

If one uses Powerhouses for voltage, combined with Legacy or TMCC Command base, how does one operate conventionally? If you put in a Power Master (and bridge if Legacy) is that conventional or command operation? I realize this is just perhaps being picky....
Perhaps "conventional" should be clarified as "transformer control only?"
68%-DCS
17.6%-TMCC Cab-1 (including 3 and 2 haves Legacy)
14.4-Conventional (18) using Z4000 Remotes
I voted TMCC and Legacy,
Well I am a late adopter and only recently added TMCC since I had nothing that worked with DCS. The layout was already wired for cab control. It was simple to fix one side of the toggle to fixed voltage for TMCC and the other for conventional control so I guess my answer is both.
I voted TMCC and Legacy,
