Interesting.  After I voted. I assume I'm one of the three TMCC votes.

What kind of model train control system do you have.

Options incomplete.  Should include:  TMCC/Conventional; DCS/Conventional;Legacy/Conventional, etc.  The key word that skews results is ONLY as it pertains to Conventional operation.  To respond to the poll as constituted, I checked TMCC and Conventional Only, which is not an accurate picture as it pertains to my operation.

DCS, TMCC/Legacy, and conventional--all are available on my home layout.  I like to cover all bases.  Also have DCC available for my On30, if and when I get another layout up and running.

My feeling is that anyone using command control also has the capability to operate conventionally...that is pretty much a given since just about any transformer will operate conventionally and just about all locomotives, regardless of the command system they use, will also operate conventionally.

My Large Scale layout in the garage current is configured for conventional operation, but at some point in the future it will be fitted for battery power/RC.

Mainly conventional for me except for three PS-2 engines by MTH, so I have DCS unit and AIU.

Command control is a little expensive and you need to find out if it will benefit your operating that much before buying it. There are a few things that command control will do but can also be done with a newer transformer. So you need to deccide on your own before buying command control, maybe by using a command system at a freind's house or at a club before taking the plunge into command control.

If one uses Powerhouses for voltage, combined with Legacy or TMCC Command base, how does one operate conventionally?  If you put in a Power Master (and bridge if Legacy) is that conventional or command operation?  I realize this is just perhaps being picky....

Perhaps "conventional" should be clarified as "transformer control only?"
