I thinking about going to York early Sat morning. I am NOT a member and aware the show closes at noon. Has anyone done this?

Sneak in?
Get a rubber mask that looks like me. I won't be able to attend.

Yes, non-members regularly go on Saturday only, all the time. You're smart for going early on Saturday so you can maximize your time before people start packing up.
As a member of the public, you can buy a wristband for entry at the Orange Hall. It's the building that has an Utz Potato Chips sign on it.

The Orange Hall is now the Weis Market Arena. Look for that sign instead of the Utz sign.

Thanks Stu... but When does it open and what time do you recommend to arrive early?

Opens at 9AM.

Thank you. I see driving is about 2hr 30min
I've done Saturday York successfully before. Get there right at 9 and be ready to move if you want to get to everything! People pack up early, but that is a great time to get deals.
What’s admission cost for non members?

$10 for "public" admission -- this gets you access to Orange and Purple Halls (Purple is the layout hall now). You register for this in the lobby of Orange Hall.
Non-TCA members can also go one time only as a guest for $23. This gets you access to the 4 member halls (Red, White, Blue, Silver) as well. You have to go to the registration desk in Silver Hall to take this option (someone there will sign you in). This option is probably better saved until you can attend on a Friday, as it can be challenging to get through all 6 halls on a Saturday.

Challenging is an understatement unless you power walk though the halls and don't stop to look at anything!

Well, it really depends on what someone is looking for, and their ability to focus. For example, someone looking for modern scale equipment or prewar standard gauge would have a reasonable chance at a good search through all the halls, while someone hunting for postwar or American Flyer, or modern traditional-sized stuff would have to be faster than a speeding locomotive!

That would be incredibly difficult, as there's no crowd to blend in with on Saturday.
The meet closes at 2:00 PM.
