If you don't pull overly long trains, one Cruise Commander 4.1 can support 4 motors. I've been running MTH Sharks, F-3's and Centipedes as well as a pair of Atlas RS-1's for years with a single Cruise Commander wired to all 4 motors in parallel. I make sure that the aluminum heat sink on the Cruise Commander is securely screwed to the sheet metal chassis of the locomotive and I use heat sink grease on the joint. I run 10 to 12 car trains on grades as steep as 3.5%.
