I have two MTH 30-11009 Signal Bridges and four MTH ITAD’s.  I want to use 1 signal bridge at each end of a passing siding (main plus siding).  The way I want this to work is that both bridges will go to red regardless of which end I enter from.  The four ITAD’s will be placed two on one end and the other two at the opposite end (one ITAD per end per signal head).  How to I wire this setup?

Thanks,

Ed

If I understand your question, you are asking how to connect two separate ITADs to drive two MTH 3-aspect signals - the kind that automatically go yellow to green after 10 seconds or so.

The two signals is the "easy" part.  You tie together the same color wires from each and both signals will behave the same.  The ITAD part is more tricky.  If either one or both ITADs can trip the two signals to red, I think you need additional components to perform the electrical logic of combining two ITAD inputs to drive the signals.  I'm thinking a relay, a couple diodes, and a capacitor - less than $5. And another set of identical components could control the other pair of signals from the other pair of ITADs.

If this is a direction you'd consider, try posting in the Electrical Forum to get specifics on the components and how to wire them up.  Include how you power the ITADs and signals.
