I just received today my mint factory sealed LCCA 1600 Burlington passenger set. When I removed it from the outer shipping box I was surprised to see the original UPS shipping address to former president Richard P. Kughn. Any thoughts?

This SP GS4 example is a bit more ambiguous. It at least got to Carail but couldn't say whether it was ever touched by Mr. Kughn. It was part of the Carail liquidation auction 10 years ago.

I bought the Burlington st from Gryzboski trains. The factory shipping box that contains the set box is dated 8/10. It was shipped by LCCA to Richard Kughn. Would this have been a set that he bought then sold?
Grzyboski's bought a big chunk of Richard Kughn's collection. You now own a small part of the collection. Congratulations, but don't discard the shipper or nobody will believe you.
What, me worry?
I got his 'archive' New Haven F3s. What that adds besides conversation is anyone's guess.
I got 2 add-on items for the PWC Canadian Pacific passenger set in an on-line auction that ended up being marked with Carail inventory tags.
I don't imagine it's much more than a tidbit for conversation. I'm not thinking the value on any of these is much more, unless maybe some personal friend of RK's wanted certain pieces due to a personal connection, but I suspect that's not a likely scenario.

All I got was a rock.

That's where my rock went...
I'd say that unless there is a pic of RK with the box...and there is some sort of mark on the box to make it one of a kind it's just a conversation piece. But I'd be excited to just have something with his name on the label. nice find!
I would agree with most comments here representing the "value" as more of a conversation piece than anything. Certainly not worth any price premium "just because" it came from RK's collection. In the mind of operators, the source of their locomotives and rolling stock plays a DISTANT second fiddle to the general enjoyment factor of just running the trains. IMHO, of course.
Enjoy!!!

Agreed, if the set had any significant value I would have not picked it up for 350.00 . $110.00 off the original LCCA price!
