Is this correct???? The EDTCA website home page shows that there will be THREE train layouts in the Orange hall. That means a drastic reduction in the number of vendors in that hall. Wow!!

Could be counting Lionel, mth or whoever. Also there’s always lcca layout in hallway. I wouldn’t get too upset yet. There’s always a small layout or two here and there. They are advertising to attract more people!

Sorry Chris, the sky is NOT falling. Those 3 groups are the names of the groups that put together the FasTrack Modular in the lobby of the Orange Hall. This will NOT reduce the number of tables inside the Orange Hall by a single table.

Whew! I guess I fell for the misleading pictures. Looked like pretty big layouts.
By the way, the FasTrack modular railroad in the Orange Hall is really worth visiting. The people who run it are fonts of friendly information about modular railroads and the layout itself is fun to watch. Last time, with a teeny bit of urging, they let responsible types (like me) run it.
If you are thinking of joining with some of your friends to operate a modular railroad because you can't run your trains at home, the FasTrack approach is a good way to go.
Check it out.

Not to mention there have been quite a few empty spots in the Orange Hall, probably room for a nice sized layout.
So with the extra space, why doesn't EDTCA pit the fastrack modular group INSIDE the Orange hall than placing them in the hallway. Wouldn't they get more exposure?
You get a big crowd in the hallway before the doors open. That may be more exposure than being in the orange hall.
The orange hall may be full. a lot of the vendors that did not attend the spring meet said that they would be at the fall meet.

Before the doors opened, I spent a good 10 minutes viewing it. Had it been inside? Maybe just a walk-by.

Hold on partner, better fact check that assumption. Actually, the number of vendors in the Orange Hall at the October York Meets has declined only very slightly over the past few years. I know, because I have checked the numbers before each of those Meets. I doubt very seriously there will be any significant decline in vendors in the Orange Hall at this Meet.

I stopped to check out one of the groups that displayed in the outer hallway before. I've also checked out the layout that was in the side room on the left when there was a setup in there.
Out in the hallway a meet or two ago, I had a brief discussion with someone regarding what I considered a creative use of large pine cones as trees - might look out of place on a true high rail layout, but for something in the middle in terms of details, I thought they looked pretty darn good.
I've also stopped a the gentleman who sets up a layout in Purple, but the current more spread out floor plan in Purple is more conducive to that than it would be to just stick a layout in a random area in Orange where there are a few empty tables.
I guess I'm in the minority, I'll seek out all the layouts wherever they happen to get set up!
