I know bigger means more power ,but

i am about to construct a o scale layout.am going to use mth tracks,but i only have a remote and a brick.which is i think the least power out there.is there a guide or a standerd to how many trains can be run with what item? for example i know i can run 1 train set with what i have,but if i wanted can i run 2 or 3 with it.and i also see those big giant remotes and that other item that looks like a power grid of some sort.these things seem complicated to me.any help would be greatfull.thank you
