Here's troubles again, I just received my lastest DCS and remote, also Lionel's 180 watt brick transformer,(2) now HOW do I connect the brick too my TIU. It looks like it only connects to Lionel tmcc  or something like that.  PLEASE help what do I do?  Sonny

Cut off the factory plug and solder or crimp spade lugs to the Hot and Common secondary wires of the 180 POHO. Then slip the spade lugs under the binding posts of the TIU channel and tighten.

When you split the lamp-type output cord the smooth side cord is the Hot and the side with the "teltale" ridge running along it is the Common.

Or, pay attention to the orientation of the cord in the plug before cutting------the center cord [center pin]is the Hot, outer is the Common. The other space is empty.

In the photo above below the white marker tape is the Common, yellow the Hot.

Dewey it looks easy the way you tell me, but right now i'm faint at heart too try it.  I'm not sure my pace maker will let me do it.  But thank  you for your advice.  I may still try it.  Oct 3rd I wil be 90 and my two 180 watts cost me $90.- each,  I wonder if that mean I should go ahead.  Again THANKS.  Sonny

If you don't want to modify anything, this is exactly what you need, 'plug and play'. I tried to post this info earlier and the post was 'put on hold for review from the moderators' for some reason? I had a link to these in the post, but the phone call will work just as well or better.

Anyway, this will solve your problems with no wire cutting or modifications required, just plug them in to the PH-180's and the TIU and go, they work great. No polarity to worry about and they are also well made. I am also using them, have 4 total.

I see my earlier post finally showed up with the link if anyone is still interested.

Here's the connector you need, Molex 03-09-2032

, they'll set you back an amazing 27 cents.  The pins you need are at the bottom of the page, Molex 0002091205.

These are of sufficient size that it's very easy to drop the wire in, hand crimp them, and then solder them.  You can make your cable for less than a dollar, and Digikey shipping on small orders is very cheap, they ship actual cost first class mail.
