A little about me: I began running Lionel postwar O scale trains  when I was 11 yrs old and soon added HO to my collection.. I left the hobby at age 24 due to various reasons.

I recently  picked up a used Lionel MPC Thunderball freight set for my 4 year old grandson, which I began refurbishing. I have removed the body from all the other pieces, so that I could wash and oil them., except for the Penn Central green caboose 6-9062.  From what I can see there are no screws holding  the shell to the frame just plastic tabs on each end. I have tried to release the tabs with pocket flat screw drivers with out any luck.  Not wanting to damage the caboose by applying  to much force on the tabs I am ready to give up.

I am hoping a member has some knowledge on how to remove the shell. Thank you for any assistance in helping get the shell off.
