Best wishes for a happy and safe Thanksgiving to the staff of O Gauge Railroading who provide us with this great Forum and OGR magazine, and to all the Forum members with whom we frequently converse but, in my case, are seldom able to meet in person.

From the city of Christopolis, the city and the Great Northeastern Railway wishes a very Happy Thanksgiving to the OGR staff, forum members and everyone else!!!!
It is the day before Thanksgiving and the city has cleared the city street from the first snow fall of the fall and winter for tomorrow's Christopolis annual Thanksgiving Day parade. Later tomorrow afternoon, the annual football game will be played between the Christopolis Crunchers and Boy Scout Troop 136 (the only team they seem to be able to beat lately).
On the farm, the search begins for the elusive turkeys.
Their turkeys are not fools. Below is a picture of one of their smartest ones already prepared for the search.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!!!!!!!

Thank you Alan and may I wish you a Happy Thanksgiving.
Great to be here with all of you.
Thank you, Alan, and a very Happy Thanksgiving to you.
May you all find a carload of loving friends and family on this and every year's Thanksgiving Day. May the day help bring peace and good fortune to all the peoples of our world.
Happy Thanksgiving Alan!
Thank you, Alan. I'm certainly thankful for all the good fellowship this forum has provided throughout the years.
Thanks Alan, but you're about 6 and a half weeks too late for me!! Joking aside, Happy Thanksgiving to all of you south of the 49th parallel. I know a lot of us who live on the border certainly partake in the "second" Thanksgiving. Looking forward to some football, a few beverages and some good Black Friday deals from my favorite hobby shops.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!!
Alan,
A very good Thanksgiving to you and your family! Same goes for everyone else on this forum. I personally can say I have a lot to be thankful for this year and friendships made via this forum is one of them.
I saw this earlier today but had 0 time to respond accordingly. Well, thank you Alan, and everyone else before me as well as those after. What to be thankful for? Plenty. My car blew up last year, it got fixed, had more issues, got that squared away, and very thankful indeed. It is a good thing I have a great support staff in family, coworkers, and friends, as well as those I have reached out to and talked with on here either in person, on the forum, or by email(and maybe even a phone call).
So many things happen in our lives and we may either blow up, or brush it off. I'm hoping for the latter, as blowing up is definitely not a fun thing to do, ask a steam engine. Last weekend when I was in the food store, my car got bumped into(I said crash at the time, but bumped into is more apt to say). I didn't know it happened, was trying to get everything done that day and get home to try and relax. The woman who bumped my car quickly flagged me down so I would know. She was a little older than me, extremely apologetic as well as nervous I think(I'm a big guy, she was short). Looking at my car, the only thing that was wrong was nothing. Yeah, my grill was bashed in a bit, bumper a little tapped, but no fluids leaking anywhere, fan and other stuff in the engine compartment, okay. I was fine.
She continued apologizing which I said it was okay, found out we're in the same town, she works downtown about 6 minutes away from my house, and lives about the same time in the other direction. We talked a bit longer, and the officer showed up to write up the report. He took our info, we waited while her husband arrived. We chatted a bit longer until the officer came back and explained about how to access the police report and such. After that, we said goodbye.
My destination on Saturday was also to go to the train store. It was busy as heck as usual for around this time of year, and I always try to chat if possible. What would I say other than Happy Thanksgiving? Well, I said to Tony(the owner), "Well, I am going to take your advice from now on about food shopping, not for me." He asked me what with a chuckle and I told him about my car getting hit and that it wasn't a big deal. He gave a little laugh back.
So much more could have been wrong to sour my mood, but it is only a busted up grill and some scratches. Not a broken up new steam engine I burnt up trying to blow the whistle. Even if that was the case, I think I would still be pretty cool about it. I would email one of our good buddies on the forum to see if they could squeeze it in for a fix up, which I do have to do some contacting about one of the other projects I haven't gotten my fingers typing on.
In closing, being thankful for all the bumps along the road that haven't taken me out and off the rails. Have a wonderful and Happy Thanksgiving all. May you not fall asleep from too much food, and may your family not get on your nerves(if they ever do), run some trains, that will fix them.
May your day, and your life, be stuffed with turkey and blessing!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone. There is a lot to be thankful for.
Sometimes you have to look for it, but it's there.
Thank you Alan, for all that you do.
Happy Thanksgiving to All! Thankful I discovered the Forum, and all the great people here!
