Found this in the bottom of a box. Pretty sure it's part of a Lionel accessory. Anyone know what it is part of.

Yep, it came as part of a cheap set called “Trains and Truckin’”, or something like that with a cheap crane. It was for picking up plastic crates. I’ve modified mine to replace the magnet on my crane. I bought the set for my daughter, and still retain a few pieces, including the open truck/trailer that came with it, as pictured. You also have the base of the crane, and a few other parts of it on that sprue.

Looks to be parts from a Lionel P & H crane. Probably not postwar but more likely MPC era?
Yes it is a sprue from Lionel's Pawling & Harnischfeger truck crane. Originally 6828 from 1959 but it has been run several times over the years. But like Artie said, some parts were used for a cheap 'trains and trucking' set crane from 1977.
Mark, you’re right. It was modified to just sit on a fixed plastic base, and wasn’t as elaborate as the P&H crane, just the cab. I probably bought the set in the late 70’s. It was so cheap, the workmen that came with the set were just fold up cardboard figures. Not one of Lionel’s premier sets. Things improved greatly when MPC sold out.
Yes, Thanks Artie. I see the claw basket on yours matches the two halves of it on my sprue. Train's N' Truckin' set.
Steel Haulers and Cargo King were the two T&T sets from 1977
Artie, Any more pics of that green Pete 352?
