Recently received two locomotives that are 2 rail. One is a southern F3 with a motor in B unit. That one has All-Nation-Chicago molded in all cast body. The locomotive I have no identification. It is  Southern 2-8-2 mostly made of brass and does run on DC current and highly detailed. Road number 4501 and with tender 20 inches long. Both engines use a double a battery for lighting. (appear to have been installed with newer plastic holder. Any info would be appreciated.  Just to note you can modify MTH realtrak to work 2 rail engines.  thank you RoyIMG_6354IMG_6355

Thank for the help as I do not find any markings on it.The gear box has no markings as I had to remove it to clean the rock solid grease to get the eng to operate. It is cast with a worm drive (brass worm white plastic type double gear) no markings. driven from the motor with a rubber type hose. The tender has kadee coupler and is all brass with a coal covered wood insert. I am sending additional photos.  I thought possibly it was a All Nations Line as I got a F3 diesel dummy with powered B unit that is also 2 rail dc and runs but it is marked on inside and cast material also with Kadee couplers. also a southern.  I am going to send additional photos.    If possible date F3 I guess possibly late 1950.   Thanks for all your help    Roy

I'm not sure why I'm wasting my time with this.  Read the description, provided by the seller.  They don't know what they have.  The title says Sunset 2-8-2 but their description says KTM 464.  KTM never made a model for Sunset!  That is a fact.  Are they talking about another model, from a previous listing?  Who knows.  I asked Gary Yoesle (THE primary In House service guy for Sunset for 30 years) if your model was a Sunset import, he said, yes, it looks like one of the early Samhongsa models imported by Sunset (prior to Sunset 3rd Rail).  USRA Mike.

Where you want to take this from here is up to you.  I'm out.
