I have an MTH City of New Orleans car and a Jackson Square dining car. Both have very small couplers which won’t attach to my standard cars. Any solution?

It would appear that someone replaced the stock couplers with Kadee 'scale' couplers. Looks good! You should be able to locate some stock units easily here.
Can you post a photo of the cars themselves?

As information, some manufacturers of the "O Gauge lobster claw couplers" will actually couple quite nicely with those Kadee "O scale" couplers. Plus, the cars will be coupled much closer together, unless you do not have 072 or larger curves.

That they will:
Note that the scale coupler is a dummy, not a KaDee.

That is a model of a European Railroad passenger car. Note the two "buffers" on either side of the "hook and loop" style European couplers.

It's actually a British coach for the LMS (London Midland Scottish) I believe

@S Bakker That is a European style passenger car you have. I have two sets. Those cars have scale wheels and are unlikely to run on a typical 3 Rail layout. I have 072 curves and Ross track - they derail every time they hit the curve. You would need to replace the scale wheel sets with 3 rail sets with the extended coupler, unless you have a 2 rail layout. Those cars are built to 1:43.5 scale instead of 1:48. I don't really see a significant difference size wise. However they are far more detailed than the typical Premier cars (IMO) . LMS Cars They shipped with the Fine Couplers and ACE Couplers neither of which are compatible with the US style couplers.
