No he doesn't. He is just dreaming. Plus, what with all the freight traffic increases on all the class I railroads in the U.S., the odds of ever seeing a Train Festival, even remotely close to the one in Michigan, back in 2009, are slim and NONE!  Besides, just who would cover the cost of moving/operating even half of the locomotives on the list?

As I see one diesel in that list, you might want to also include CB&Q E5 #9911A, for more variety.

I've thought about things like this before, although I just wonder what it would be like to simply have all of the engines operating all over the US at the same time, each in their home territory, in a way that suggested the steam/early diesel locos were "taking back the rails" (at least for the day, or week, or something like that).

Now that a running Big Boy is becoming a reality that many many naysayers said would never happen, lets dream a little bigger.

How many naysayers fell off their chairs when Jerry Jacobson built and operated the Ohio Central with steam locomotives.

They do railfest meets in Great Britain and other countries in Europe. I recall seeing a TV program about a massive meeting of steam locomotives in Russia.

So maybe some entrepreneurs in the USA may make this happen.

NEVER SAY NEVER!

CP2317 and CP3254 I think need their inspections and have not been running at Steamtown for some time.  I could be wrong but I heard a rumor that they may never get their inspections done .  Very sad as I have been on many rides behind both engines and love the both of them been lucky enough to live outside Scranton.
