I have been experiencing inconsistent track alignment (elevations) on my Mianne Lift Gate Bridge to the point where derailment or separation occurs within my consist. I am using Gargraves wood tie and track is fastened to plywood. I have used cardboard shims over time to avoid pulling up the entire track sections. Change in elevation over time is between 1/16 tp 1/8". Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Mine has been in operation for over five years now an I have not had that problem. In my case, one side may not drop fully down by about 1/8" so I have to press it down. Does your lift section move horizontally when you press on it? That may mean one of the tracks is either loose or out of alignment.

Peter,
Thank you so much for your fast reply. I will check out your recommendation. I will post a reply to you. By the way, I really like how you finished the "below layout" areas to include display shelves and other storage. Very nice. Your layout looks beautiful. Will be in touch. Thx.
I had the same issue. First off, make SURE you've properly leveled everything, that was my first issue when I was installing it. However, after installing and leveling, I found the lower limit switch design to be less than bulletproof. If you try to adjust it for full down travel to the lower stops, a very slight change can allow the switch not to engage before the stops and the motor to continue to run. That is VERY bad! However, if you try to adjust it so that won't happen, it's difficult to get it to stop exactly fully seated.
Add to that if the limit switch trip gets bumped in any way, it can knock it out of adjustment and you have one of the above named problems again!
I finally bit the bullet and did a proper limit switch that insures the top is fully seated before the motor stops, but can never run the cable off the pulleys, which turns out to be a giant PITA!
Mianne Lift Bridge Lower Limit Switch Enhancement
Here's the basic parts of my new limit switch, see the above linked thread for all the details. This was when I first mounted the new limit switch, it's all wired and working now.
Another useful mod I did was expand the controls to two switches, one on either side of the liftgate. Since my span is 4 feet, the single control on a leash was pretty awkward!
Mianne Lift Gate Control Expansion
Now each side has this on the fascia, a spring return to center on-off-on switch to raise and lower the liftgate.
These mods have made the liftgate much easier to live with, and more importantly, more reliable!
Hello John,
Thanks so much for your reply. I had earlier seen your post when I was researching my issue on the Forum. Your details are helpful. I will read your earlier posted information again very carefully. thank you again.
Good luck with it, when properly adjusted and "improved", it's a great accessory.
This is my second layout using the Mianne lift-gate and with accurate leveling it comes down with all three tracks matching up perfectly:
Consider contacting Tim Foley with questions as well. Good luck and enjoy this great product! My knees are glad that I have this on my layout.
