My recent purchase of a Williams Dreyfuss I posted here needs a new traction tire. It looks like the side rods are attached with very small allen headed screws??? I have none that small in my automotive tools......so I will need to buy one. Question is what size is it??? English or metric?? Good wrench is not expensive but don't want to buy 10 to find the right one. Any help??? THANKS!!

FWIW, I just turned around and looked ay my Williams Masterpiece Dreyfuss and my side
rods are attached with very small Phillips-head screws, not Allens. Of course, small manufacturers are known for using different hardware during runs, as you probably know. I did have to get up close and personal to see the head properly.
Here's hoping...
Dave, I would think they would be metric. I will try and check mine tonight.
I have one of these Harbor Freight sets. Believe it or not but quality is pretty decent. I have been using it on a couple of 3rd Rail engines.

Thanks guys.......
They could be phillips........my fine vision is kinda bad after many laser treatments.
I need to use a magnifier but it's in the workshop downstairs and I'm not able to get down there right now. THANKS!
Dave, both my M.P. Hudsons use phillips screws to hold the siderods on.

Thanks all!!!!!
I was able to get my loco onto the work bench and with bright work light and a magnifier I saw that mine has very small phillips head screws. So my clean up and servicing of my 'new to me' loco is about complete. Thanks for the help!!!!!
That is a beauty, Dave. When did Williams put that loco out?
